The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The author

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of questionable actions towards young women.

The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
